London Stock Exchange has selected the Catalonian SME Grupo Catalá among the 1,000 most inspiring in Europe. The company is part of a list that includes the small and medium-sized companies that “have a more pronounced growth in the EU”, as explained yesterday by the Director of Government Relations at the London Stock Exchange, Xavier Solano. “Most are very small, very unknown but they are the ones that really generate jobs and wealth,” said Solano from Brussels, where the report was presented.
Grupo Catalá is a company from La Portella that is dedicated to the production and distribution of stone and pome fruit. In addition, twelve more Catalan SMEs are also part of this list. SMEs represent two thirds of employment in Europe and 60 percent of the value of the economy.
