Grupo Català collaboration with food banks

Grupo Català carries out an active annual policy of collaboration with the different food banks established in our territory. In this sense, we are pleased to continue with the continued help and the communication received from the entities: “The products received have been of excellent quality and in significant quantities, which has allowed us to distribute fruit to more than 500 charities. that serve the most needy people. If it had not been for the efforts of entities such as Grupo Català, these people would not have been able to have access to these products so necessary for a good diet.

The Food Bank of Madrid is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is the free procurement of food and whose donation and subsequent distribution is also made free of charge among legally recognized charities, dedicated to the assistance and direct care of needy people in the Community from Madrid. It is a member of the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) (www.bancodealimentos.es) which currently groups 55 Banks from all over Spain and, through it, of the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA) ( www.eurofoodbank.eu) which groups together 264 banks from 22 European countries.

The Banco dels Aliments de Barcelona (BdA) is an independent, apolitical, non-denominational and non-profit Foundation, whose main objectives are to avoid waste by recovering surplus food suitable for human consumption and to fight against poverty, by delivering it to people in a situation of food precariousness in our environment. The Banc dels Aliments fundamentally obtains food, distributes it to social entities and uses the resources it has available to regulate food deliveries throughout the year. Food is obtained in three ways: recovery of surpluses to avoid waste, donations and the EU-subsidized program.

We look forward to maintaining this important collaboration over the next few years so that we can continue to serve the people who need it so much.
